  8. The Monument is located northeast of Prescott in the central part of the state. The Visitor Center is two miles east of Clarkdale and three miles west of Cottonwood.

  10. WHEN TO VISIT
  11. Open year round. Peak visitor month is April. Winters are mild, Summers hot, and Spring and Fall are pleasant.

  14. Ruins of a large Indian pueblo that flourished in the Verde Valley between 1100 and 1450 A.D. have been excavated here.
